G20 Public Holiday for Brisbane

While Redcliffe was working as normal, Brisbane had a day off for the G20. According to the television news, the city centre was deserted. Dad was surprised that schools and shops were all running as usual. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a holiday and the roads to the Sunshine coast and Gold Coast were totally packed with people taking a long weekend break in the cooler breeze by the water.

I walked on the treadmill for half an hour at a brisk pace and managed 2.8 km. It was 7 times around the track. The morning was warmer than usual. We have a heat wave this weekend. I had a second shower after my walk. It was a great day for drying washing. Meanwhile, Dad took Max for a walk down the street and hosed him down to cool off afterwards.

I also cleaned the table and chairs and treadmill as they hadn’t been wiped down in a while. Then I finished Mum’s hair, which I had cut last weekend. She likes a light Ash Brown colour which takes strongly to her hair as a medium to dark brown. She always feels better after having her hair done. The other thing that annoyed her was her computer which had the remaining printer drivers from old printers she had picked up in garage sales. She called Jarrod, who came around in the afternoon and fixed most of the annoying pop ups.

As well as sorting my paper files, I have a lot of electronic accounts to sort out as well. I was on the phone for a couple of hours trying to sort out one. The internet is really slow now due to the G20, no doubt. We have been watching news reports of the arriving dignitaries from member countries.
